RULES
STAY IC: It should be obvious that players must stay in character and not cross any ic/ooc lines etc. As such, please refrain from fourth walling and the like, acknowledging that they are fictional characters etc. Your characters exist within their world, and will not think outside of that. As such, players will be expected to understand what they know ooc vs what their character will know ic. Try to remember this. STRIKES & WARNINGS: If need be, for whatever reason, if the mods have to step in and intervene on any issue, we will. If a player or a number of players come to the mods with issues and complaints regarding another member of the community, we will have to step in and put out foot down. Anyone who is in violation of the rules in any way will be given a series of warnings before finally being removed from the game. BE RESPECTFUL: Please remember to be kind and courteous to your fellow players, regardless of whatever issues you may have with them OOC. Please also remember that IC interaction does not and should not reflect OOC behavior. If your character doesn't like another character in the game, don't bring that tension out into your OOC relationships. Likewise, we will not tolerate players harassing one another or making others uncomfortable. Don't pressure people into plots. Do not force ships on anyone. Basically, just don't be a douche bag, or the mods will take action when it is brought to our attention. NO GOD/INFOMODDING: OOC knowledge does not equal IC knowledge. No player may imply knowing information about another character that they have not either learned through game interaction or have handwaved learning with the other player. You cannot force anyone into any plot and if you are found to be doing so, you will receive an immediate strike. CHARACTER AGE LIMITS: For convenience, we ask that no characters be of Hogwarts student age/under the age of 18. An NPC can be younger, such as a sibling, but we ask that you don't app or try to actively play anyone younger than the age limit which has been set by the mods. ABILITIES: Characters will be allowed to have a limit of three special abilities, tops. PLOT
THE PLOT Harry Potter is dead. He died in the woods on that fateful night, and the wizarding world has never been the same. After the Chosen One's death it was only a matter of time before Hogwarts fell. From there it was a domino effect. The Death Eaters began taking hold of other magical ministries; their presence could be felt throughout Europe and before long Voldemort had completely taken over. A new, harsher muggle born incentive was passed, forcing all muggleborns and even some half-bloods into hiding. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Dumbledore's Army, and the Order of the Phoenix, have all been re-organized, disbanded, or are being run by rogue members. Prominent members like Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley, and Severus Snape are now only spoken about in whispers, their current whereabouts are unknown. With dementors patrolling Hogwarts and magical settlements, the constant raids by death eaters, and the never ending ominous feeling of dread lurking around every corner, the magical world has fallen into despair. But there's a tiny ember of hope burning on the horizon. A resistance is growing and gaining momentum. A newly formed Dumbledore's Army has begun attacking death eater camps, freeing kidnapped muggleborns, and disrupting their foothold. Will this new movement be enough to usurp the most powerful wizard of this, or any age? Or will they fail, just like the supposed Chosen One? Second Rise is an AU Harry Potter themed role-play community based on DreamWidth. It takes place in present day and explores what would have happened if Voldemort had won the Battle of Hogwarts instead of Harry Potter. We will focus on the rebellion and the death eaters struggle to retain power. We accept both canon and original characters, for a list of open canon characters please check this list here. Some characters will be marked DECEASED and if you'd like the details on their demise please pm the mods. This community will also feature dark, horror-inspired themes and will only accept players over the age of 18. |
